Bassmaster Classic Pregame Show Part 1

Prepping for the Bassmaster Classic, there are kinds of great article, videos and more on the web right now.  So I am going to share a few of the highlights.

If you are playing the new BASS Fantasy Fishing Game, with the new 5 tier angler system, you are going to need some dark horse picks to fill these buckets.  Couple ideas for ya....   Look no farther then the 2010 Bassmaster Weekend Series champion, read how Ryan McMurtury recently won the Bassmaster Weekend Series South Carolina opener, held Jan. 29, 2011, on Lake Murray.  He is obviously fishing well and with a lot of confidence right now and that should never be overlooked.

Not to be outdone, Federation Nation champ Brandon Palaniuk has spending a lot of time pre-practicing for the Classic.  Check out his video interview posted on Bass Parade .  After all, he won his Championship up state for on the Red River.   Could we revisit the magic of the great Bryan Kerchal?

Lastly, check out this super sweet breakdown by Greg Hackney on the Louisiana Delta Classic!

Sure sounds like it will be a Classic for the ages!

Anybody else got some good tidbits to share?

Should You Shoot Small Bucks?

You know, I never took this questions very serious until recently. Over the past few years, I've seen this question start some real knock down and drag out debates (okay, arguments!) in online deer hunting forums. But I've been seeing more and more of them lately whenever someone asks if they should be shooting small [...]

StriperInc Lake Texoma Fishing Report 3/28/2011

It seems all the signs of spring are now upon us. Wild flowers are starting to bloom, the trees are getting their leaves, my garden is coming up, and most importantly, the fish are starting to bite here on Lake Texoma. With the warmer weather the surface temperature has climbed into the 60’s in the main lake [...]

Winter Trout Fishing 2/19/2011

On Saturday 2/19/2011, we had a little time to get away to a spring creek outside of the Sunriver area while visiting Bend, Oregon. Right when we arrived, the hatch was starting up with good numbers of black midges. The fish were up and on them with a full on surface feeding session. We caught a nice amount of fish on dry flies, as the surface frenzy commenced for a couple of hours. The roads were nasty on the drive over from Bend, but the intermittent snow showers kept the hatch going, and the catching was relatively easy for a spring creek.

Got the itch...

A rigorous travel schedule has kept me off the water other then throwing a little crappie spinner from shore for a few minutes on Saturday.  I did catch one small fish pictured below.  But it's not really doing an adequate job of scratching my itch.  Kinda want to get out on the boat, maybe towards end of this week, I can make some time.

Anybody noticed all these silly looking multicolored bar code looking things in all the fishing magazine these days?  Well if not or you have and have no clue why, read on. They are ?Electronic Tags? and are a relative;y new and cool new way to connect print media or any other visual media with Digital media.  These tag barcodes are embedded with a URL or a link to a video, website, or pretty much anything you can think of?

Curious, how it works, simply download the FREE application or ?App? from the website http://gettag.mobi or download from your appropriate App Store.  You can even test on the Tags in this article.  First will bring you to a Strike King Ad other will bring you to a YouTube video demo of how to use the tags with my Blackberry.Interestingly enough, two large fishing and outdoor companies are embracing this technology.  See my YouTube video demonstrating how these tags work.

From a consumer?s perspective, these technologies get me  excited. Just think, if this technology becomes widely accepted and embraced, consumers could scan small tags off of the package, download customer reviews, video ads, much more then you could ever fit on a package. So you scan a code on a new lure, get straight talk from the pro that invented it in video form or even get an instant coupon.

I think they are cool, do you?  Or a huge waste of time?

KillZone Hunting Introduces the Body Block Ground Blind

A new quick-setup ground blind is available from KillZone Hunting for solo hunters on the move. The three-panel Body Block ground blind sets up in seconds and surrounds the hunter on three sides. Most hunters lean up against a tree for backrest support and for concealment on the fourth side. This small blind keeps the [...]
